Weather: overcast, pleasant · Lunch: onigiri, fried meat, and a karaage-dog (or whatever it’s called) · Dinner: — · Sleep: it was fine, I’d just like to go to bed earlier for once
Obviously, when you’re waiting for thesis reviews you can’t really sleep. The last review came in at exactly 7:06 (00:06 CEST), so you can imagine how much I slept. Luckily there was no problem with it.
The attack of the ketchup
During lunch — when I finally got to the lab — I decided to eat. This time I tried the daily menu, which was a karaage hot dog. The clerk put something out that I didn’t fully understand; and when I asked whether I could buy the thing like that, I didn’t quite understand that either. But he gave me a ketchup with it.
I dug in — at first I didn’t really know what it was. Then it turned out: basically a hot dog in the usual Japanese dough. I liked it a lot, but it really could have used a bit of ketchup. I struggled a little with how to open the ketchup, but I managed, and tucked in with relish.
Except that, as I opened it, it sprayed so hard that the ketchup avalanche left a giant stain on my shirt, right at the chest. Unpleasant — though, thank heavens, at least the dorm is nearby. In any case I don’t want to run around all day like a mass murderer, so I’ll nip back and put on another shirt.
After that, really all that was left was to prepare for tomorrow’s meeting with Kato. Because I’m starting to get tired. Very. The double life and the online examinations do take their toll.
