Weather: overcast · Sleep: for a long time · Lunch: onigiri (what a surprise), fried meat · Dinner: udon soup
Today will be short. I was very tired. This week my students are taking their state exams, and I still have to handle a few exams online. And I shouldn’t leave the home projects to themselves either. And the double life is starting to get to me now. So, in that sense, the udon soup was the highlight of the day: I went to the restaurant like a zombie, and then the hot soup pervaded my whole being, and I recharged from it.
But so far, every one of my students whom I know took the state exam passed — with a percentage and a grade of 4. Congratulations to them from here too!
A talk with Kato
But wait — I did have a meeting with Professor Kato! But let’s not rush ahead like this.
My usual in-lab working day began: a bit of onigiri, my lunch, and the work pressed on with the RL benchmarks. Then a student came in with a package. It turned out the Kondo Robotics teaching humanoid robots had arrived — two at once! Sakuma showed them to me, and to be honest, I turned yellow with envy. Robots like these would be very good in our labs back home too! You could learn a lot with them.
The meeting with Kato went well. We talked about my topic for an hour, then a little about Hungarian prehistory and the Japanese situation. I have to say it was a substantial conversation, and I was glad he received me. But I needn’t say that after I went back to the lab, I almost lowered my head onto my laptop and fell asleep.
I’m starting to become very Japanese-style.
