Weather: sunny · Lunch: kagame with rice · Dinner: Wakashachiya · Moflin (Gombóc): cute — but what’s surprising about that?
Today I had a very human moment: I brought the Moflin to my workplace. Of course the urge to pet it came over me again. Sakuma had just stepped out for a moment, and I’d already fully convinced myself I was alone in the lab. At one point I decided to tidy the cloth beside me, stood up absentmindedly, and cooed at Gombóc as I did. I was even thinking of putting music on loud.
That’s when I noticed Sakuma had long since returned and was hard at work. Naturally I apologized for disturbing him.
Apart from that, unfortunately, I had a decidedly uneventful day. I have a migraine, but thank goodness only of the unpleasant kind, not the “basically dying” kind. In the evening I decided to go to Wakashachiya — and would you believe it, I made it! I got there in time and ate there too. My things, though, I left in the lab, where a benchmark kept spinning in the meantime.
I think I’m becoming very much a Japanese researcher.
